What can you get after 12 hours of rendering?

This picture, that’s what. I still can’t believe it took that long on a P4 3.2GHz box with 2GB of RAM. I was practicing making scenes for the Titanium Knights comic, and I came up with this. Special thanks to the talented modelers at Artist3D.com for the free tank models. Hope you enjoy it.

For those loyal fans who are following my Titanium Knights Episode III comic (The few, the proud, the… wait, wrong slogan. Crap. Anyway.), you might be wondering why the next page has been so long in coming. Well, there are a few reasons for that. First off, my mother passed away last month, and details regarding that can be seen here. I have also been sick for the last two weeks, with either a bad cold or light flu, or something. Finally…

I made a mistake in the creation of the latest comic page. In my haste to complete and publish the page, I left out one frame. The frame, by itself, is not that important to the story, but creates a distinct “bump” in my storytelling. That “bump” has made it very difficult to make the next page. To correct this, I will remake the last page to include the missing frame, and that in turn will make the next page flow the way I have intended it. Sorry to keep you guys waiting. Thank you all for your support.

Now, I must be off. My wonderful wife has just made some fruit smoothies for us to enjoy…

Titanium Knights Episode III Comic

Well, I finally got the webcomic up. It is still a work in progress, and I am currently working on page 3. The prologue page and pages 1 and 2 are complete. I am pretty much learning different software packages as I progress through the different pages. However, the story and layout of the comic is pretty much complete. I’ve been working on those for a long time. It feels great to finally produce the work! I am usually so much of a perfectionist, that I kept putting it off for story improvements, but that is self defeating. I can always work out any undetermined details as they arise. It’s about time I realized that.

I actually got a part time job that allows me more time to work on this comic. It’s not technical work like I’m used to, just working as a porter 2 or 3 days a week. It pays better hourly wages than any tech job I’ve ever had. People are usually shocked when they hear this, but it’s just that I’ve worked for some really bad companies who care nothing about retaining talent. It is because of working for these companies, and the fact that I am still burned out from my last job (Yes, they let me go in December of ‘06, and I am still burned out!) that I am seriously considering leaving the IT field altogether. Okay, enough sidetracking.

What I really do enjoy is creative work, and I have really enjoyed working on this site and webcomic. I will continue working on this comic as much as I can while maintaining my reponsibilities. Any and all suggestions are welcome. I can be reached via the contact page. Thanks for reading.
