AMD rolls out new server chips

Just when the industry thought the nail went into the coffin of Advanced Micro Devices, a bit of strength have muscled their way back into the game. New Opterons(Shanghai) are on the way with some weight loss. With 45nm process reduced from 65nm, and "20 percent performance increase and 35 percent less power consumption when idle". As well as, socket compatible with previous socket F boards.

NVIDIA Breaks Visual Computing Barriers With First 4GB Graphics Card

Nvidia, the worlds largest graphics chip manufacture has just raised the bar again. The Nvidia Quadro FX 5800 series professional graphics solution. With a DRAM capacity of 4GB(4096MB), it's the only card on the market to pack this much memory onboard. Previously, Advanced Micro Devices launched the Fire GL 8650 with DRAM capacity of 2GB.

The worlds largest x86 semiconductor is back & took the gloves off. New processor codenamed: Nahelem. The processor is now packing features that Advanced Micro Devices, Athlon 64/Opteron were toting back in 2004. An Integrated Memory Controller on the processor. Another feature mentioned of the product is called Power Gate Technology. An Energy Efficient feature to dynamically toggle a core of the processor On or Off in Idle & Active states. Integrated Memory Controller enhancement now supports three channel memory (not dual) DDR3. With Dual & Quad Core solutions coming forward on 11/17.

Weekend Topic: Your Favorite Wireless Router?

There have been far too many times that I would receive some kind of support call because someone purchased a router from Best buy or Circuit city and faced some form issue. Regardless of brand, there's always an issue or quirk. With all the various routers on the market today, My question to the members of the site, What is your Favorite Router? (list models, revision numbers if possible)

Google Polishes Chrome Beta

Google, known for their search engine and mail client, released another Beta update to their new web browser, Chrome. Stephen Shankland has posted a benchmark to what is to be seen as a performance improvement over the previous beta.

Windows 7: A better Vista?

From XP, to Vista and now to 7. Windows 7 that is. The transition from XP to Vista has been roller coaster for many, and a smooth sailing for a select few. However, Microsoft made an attempt to address issues with Vista by releasing a Service Pack back in March '08. Fast forward to October '08 and Windows 7 is on the rise in pre-beta form. With features such as Multi-touch input, it's on the way to public testing in early '09.

Opera releases version 9.61

Opera software group posted the latest version of their browser. Version 9.61, features like Quick find, Mouse Gestures, and Opera Link. Which allows you to sync Bookmarks and history between Work and Home devices.
